Travelling impressions 2

A weekend in June 2016.

Munich was my hometown for more than 20 years, and it is always a pleasure to be there for meeting friends, enjoying Bavarian food like „Weißwürstl“ in one of the wonderful Biergarden, exploring an interesting museum or just strolling through the city, hunting for new street pictures. Munich is - especially in the summer or during the famous Oktoberfest - a very overcrowded city in the inner area. It isn´t easy to find something like "urban life" in the districts around "Viktualienmarkt", "Kaufingerstraße" or "Karlsplatz". The city is dominated by tourists from all over the world. Of course, this is also „daily life“ in Munich, but I love to capture the quiet moments which give us an impression of ordinary people going about their everyday lives in this wonderful city.

Where can you find authentic places in Munich? You have different opportunities. An interesting district is Haidhausen, which is more than 1200 years old, older than Munich itself and a vibrating part of the city with a lot of restaurants, cafés and small shops. Due to "Gasteig" and "Muffathalle", Haidhausen is moreover a place for musicians and people who love music. But in the small streets between "Rosenheimerstraße" and "Innere Wiener Straße" you find the daily life which I love so much.

I spent a few hours walking along "Steinstraße" to "Wiener Platz" and I tried to capture people going about their daily „business“. Please have a look:
